Step 1: Purchase & download the eAlbum Cover Artwork from the various purchase & download pages. You can Purchase Here...
Step 2: Backup and un-zip the files. When you get our 'ZIP' file make a backup copy for yourself. Only work with the copy and keep the original in a safe place. When you un-zip the file you should get a directory structure similar to the one IN THIS TEXT FILE;
NOTE: we are using the file named, Gothic-Black-Book.zip in our example
Your dates, sizes, & timestamp's will be different as will be the zip file name. What will remain the same are the names of the image files. Each format, jpg and png will have the same file name.
The JPG files are called;
01-cover-FRONT.jpg for the Front Cover.
02-page-LEFT.jpg for the inside Left Page.
03-page-RIGHT.jpg for the inside Right Page.
04-cover-BACK.jpg for the outside Back Cover.
The PNG files are labeled the same, they just have the .png file extension instead of the .jpg.
The remaining text files have additional info for the license and any special instructions that might be needed.
Step 3: Download and un-zip the file "FlashPageFlip_FreeVersion.zip" by Design Positive at their web page, www.flashpageflip.com. You will get a directory structure like the one in THIS TEXT FILE.
Step 4: At this point you should have un-zipped 2 files and are now ready to do some assembly. We are going to make a working directory and put all the peices together for a test run.
- Create a working directory named "/album/".
- Go to the directory where you un-zipped the files from "FlashPageFlip_FreeVersion.zip" and copy the folder named "Free Version" to our working directory "/album/".
- Make a copy of the folder named "pages" that was extracted from the zip file you got from www.ThinkPinkPixels.com and place the copy inside our working directory named "/album/Free Version/" replacing the original with this new version.
- In our working 'images' directory, "/album/Free Version/pages/", we must resize the original images to
638 x 826. Our images are distributed as Hi-Resolution Print ready images that must be made smaller for Web display.
- Inside the working 'xml' directory "/album/Free Version/xml/" is the file named "Pages.xml". Open this file in a text editor like notepad. DO NOT use a word processor like Word. This file provides information about what pages are to be displayed by the FlashPageFlipper and what order they are to be displayed in. Edit the file to look exactly like this sample Pages.xml file.
- At this point you should have a basic setup. just open the "Default.html" file inside the "/album/" working directory in a web browser and VOILA'. You have a 'blank' Album. Now the real fun begins. Use the provided blank pages to create your personal album by adding pictures to the blank pages changing the name and put the new version in the "pages" folder add the name to the "Pages.xml" file. For even more detailed info see the PageFlip FAQ, the ReadMe! File, and the StartingToWork File. If you are still having problems adding our pages to the PageFlipping component contact us here.
